Services for Institutions and Governments
Harms & Company Consulting offers a broad range of services to academic institutions and governments. We work with our clients to provide technology commercialization gap-filling services, manage projects outside of normal operations and offer workshops and training.
Technology Transfer & Business Development
Diane’s experience as a WestLink Intern and as a Technology Transfer Officer is available to universities, colleges and government departments undertaking Technology Transfer & Business Development activities and needing to fill staffing gaps on a sub-contract basis. Sub-contract activities can include: disclosure due diligence, writing and editing technology marketing materials, maintaining online directories of technologies, and supporting the development of prototyping grant applications (e.g., CIHR POP, NSERC I2I, SDTC).
Project Management & Facilitation
Administrative units are often assigned a wide array of tasks that range from day-to-day necessities to those of strategic importance to the unit, their clients, and their parent organization. Finding the time to move strategic projects forward can be challenging, especially when inter-agency collaboration is necessary. A neutral external facilitator can accelerate the realization of project goals and overcome internal and external challenges that may hinder project completion. Harms & Company can act as Project Managers and Facilitators to move strategic projects to rapid conclusion.
Workshops
Technical and scientific writing is a specialized skill that conveys complex information in relevant detail to a well defined audience. Harms & Company offers a wide variety of Workshops geared towards developing our client’s writing skills. Programs such as “New Faculty Boot Camp” and “Mentoring Grantsmanship Teams” can be offered independently or in conjunction with internal partners.
