Genome Canada Project Associates
I am pleased to have completed work on a series of proposals for the recent Genome Canada Competition in Applied Genomics Research in Bioproducts or Crops (ABC). I would like to thank all of my Associates who worked on this project with me. Their hard-work, attention to detail and enthusiasm is greatly appreciated!
Christa Bedwin, BSc, BEd Christa combines her degrees in Chemistry and Education with a wide variety of experience to improve academic, promotional, and educational materials. Her experience clarifying and accuracy checking complex manuscripts are a valuable addition to the team. Her eight years of editing experience has included editing and writing textbooks, newsletters, chemistry journal articles and successful government grant proposals (both NSERC and CFI).
Gillian Binsted, MASc Gillian has a background in Chemistry and Environmental Engineering and has worked in science writing since 1995. She has experience in several genres, predominantly government data/research reports and journal articles. For four years she was responsible for the administration of a large peer-reviewed research grants program and witnessed first-hand how bad writing and poor presentation can turn good science into un-fundable applications. Her current editing business began with a focus on research grants, but has quickly grown to include editing of a wide variety of academic and scientific documents.
C. Melissa Dobson, PhD Melissa has research expertise in Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Microbiology and Molecular Biology with over a dozen publications to her credit in journals such as Nature Genetics, PNAS and Molecular Genetics and Metabolism. She has applied for and received funding from Alberta Ingenuity, Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research, and CIHR. Melissa has recently participated in the development of regulatory submissions to the CFIA, Health Canada and the FDA. Her teaching and research experience bring unique skills and knowledge base to Harms & Company Consulting.
